Lesson #5
This lesson really dives in to the government structure of First Nations pre-contact. It is a short paper on it and students are expected to read through it and pull out the main ideas and we will share what we discovered as a class. The importance of this lesson is to ensure the students recognize the fact that the First Nations were an autonomous, civil and self determining society before contact. This will be an important theme later on as we discuss more of the fine details of policies concerning Aboriginal people.
